I have always thought that Noah was safe inside the Ark because he built it according to God’s specifications. I thought that perhaps it was the strength of the gopher wood and the soundness of the architecture that ensured that the waters of the flood would not come into the Ark.
But today I encountered a verse that shifted this whole paradigm. Let’s read what Gen 7:16 says ..” The animals going in were male and female of every living thing as God had commanded Noah..AND THE LORD SHUT HIM IN….
Don’t miss this…. even after Noah had built the Ark, it was God Himself who shut him in, in order to shut out the waters of the flood… In other translations this verse says “The Lord sealed them inside.”
May the Almighty God seal us inside His Ark of protection through this last quarter of 2017.

आख़िर क्या कारण था कि मुंबई के ताज होटल पर हुए भीषण हमले में ताज होटल का कोई भी कर्मचारी अपनी ड्यूटी छोड़कर और होटल छोड़कर नहीं भागा ??
26/11 मुंबई अटैक. यानी 26 नवंबर 2008 को मुंबई में आतंकी हमला हुआ. तीन हथियारबंद आंतकियों ने मुंबई के ताज होटल समेत कई जगहों पर हमला किया. अब भी होटल ताज की वो दहशत में डूबी तस्वीरें ताजा हैं. मगर 26/11 के दौरान होटल ताज में जो लोग फंसे रहे, वो हार्वर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी के लिए एक बड़ा मनोवैज्ञानिक विषय बन गए. इस स्टडी में कई चौंकाने वाले फैक्ट्स सामने आए हैं.
बुधवार का दिन था. 500 के करीब गेस्ट रुके हुए थे और करीब इतने ही बैंक्वेट हॉल्स में अलग-अलग फक्शन अटैंड कर रहे थे. रात को 9 से 9.30 बजे के बीच अचानक गोलीबारी की आवाज़ें आईं. किसी को पता नहीं चल रहा था कि आखिर ये कैसी आवाज़ है. करीब 600 कर्मचारी भी थे उस वक्त होटल ताज में.
24 साल की बैंक्वेट मैनेजर मल्लिका जगद उस समय गेस्ट को संभाल रहीं थीं.
रिसर्च में सामने आया कि कर्मचारियों में ज्यादातर 25 से 30 साल के थे. उनको पता था कि कौन सा दरवाज़ा कहां है और कहां से खुलता और बंद होता है. साथ ही कैसे बाहर निकला जा सकता है. इंसानी फितरत होती है कि मुश्किल के समय अपनी जान बचाकर भागा जाए. वो कहते भी तो हैं -जान बची तो लाखों पाए. मगर हैरानी की बात ये है कि उस हमले के दौरान होटल ताज का एक भी कर्मचारी भागा नहीं. अंदर फंसे होटल स्टाफ ने मेहमानों को अपनी जान पर खेलते हुए बचाया.
इनमें टेलीफोन ऑपरेटर्स भी शामिल थीं. ये फीमेल स्टाफ ही था जो पहले बाहर निकला और फिर इमरजेंसी की सिचुएशन में वापस अपने वर्क स्टेशन पर आ गया. उन्होंने होटल के हर कमरे में गेस्ट को फोन किया और बताया कि वो अपने-अपने रूम की लाइट बंद कैसे करें. ऑपरेटर्स पूरी रात अंदर ही रहे और लगातार गेस्ट की सेफ्टी के लिए उन्हें जानकारियां देते रहे.
होटल के छठे माले पर शेफ ने गेस्ट को सुरक्षित बाहर निकालने के लिए एक दूसरे के हाथ से हाथ जोड़कर एक ह्यूमन चेन बना ली. गेस्ट को बीच में रखकर सुरक्षित बाहर निकालने की कोशिश की. इतने में दो आतंकवादी सामने आ गए और कई शेफ को मौके पर ही गोली मार दी.
इस पर रिसर्च करते हुए मनोवैज्ञानिक ने तीन नतीजे निकाले-
#1 ताज ग्रुप ने अपने होटल में बड़े शहरों से नहीं बल्कि छोटे कस्बों से लोगों को नौकरी पर रखा था. ये सामने आया कि आज भी छोटी जगहों से आए लोग एक-दूसरे से जुड़ाव महसूस करते हैं.
#2 दूसरा निष्कर्ष ये निकला कि ताज ने किसी भी टॉपर यानी क्लास में सबसे ज्यादा मार्क्स लेने वाले को नौकरी पर नहीं रखा था. एचआर टीम यानी ह्यूमन रिसोर्स ने नौकरी के लिए छांटे गए लोगों के स्कूल टीचर्स से बात की थी और जाना था कि आवेदक अपने पैरेंट्स, टीचर्स और आसपास के लोगों के साथ किस तरह का बर्ताव करता था. यानी एटीट्यूड चेक किया न कि मार्क्स.
#3 तीसरी और आखिरी बात ये निकलकर आई कि ताज ने अपने कर्मचारियों को सिखाया था कि वो ताज ग्रुप के लिए उनके मेहमानों के प्रतिनिधि होंगे, न कि मेहमानों के लिए ताज के प्रतिनिधि. सभी फ्रंट डेस्क कर्मचारियों को गेस्ट की आवाज बनने की ट्रेनिंग दी गई. एक और बात जो इसी से जुड़ी है. ताज में ये कल्चर है कि कोई भी गेस्ट जब किसी कर्मचारी के लिए अच्छा रिमार्क लिखकर जाता है तो मैनेजमेंट उस कर्मचारी को 24 घंटों के भीतर इनाम देता है.
