If God intended for miracles to be repeated in every generation, there would be no need for signs and wonders to be written down that later readers might believe. Once a truth is tested and proven, if adequate proof has been offered, the evidence doesn’t have to be produced over and over again. The initial evidence can simply be examined again to reconfirm the former decision. In a similar way once the person of Jesus Christ was validated by his miracles and by his resurrection from the dead, miracles were not needed again and again to prove that point(Rom 1:14). Jesus had to rise from the dead only once. His resurrection has been proven. It stands as historical fact. That evidence is now recorded in a document, the Bible. It is only necessary for us to examine that document, believe, and obey. The same is true for other miracles which confirmed or validated the preaching and ministry of the early church, so they diminished and ceased.
